ReSAKSS-East and Central Africa (ReSAKSS-ECA) node, the East African Business Council (EABC), the East African Community (EAC) and the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in East and Central Africa (ASARECA) are jointly organizing a regional workshop to be held on November 4, 2009 in Arusha, Tanzania to disseminate the results of the study on Non Tariff Barriers (NTBs) in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

ReSAKSS-ECA and the Research and Method Group (RMB) of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) are conducting a GIS/GPS training workshop from October 26-31, 2009. The 25 participants come from the EAC member states of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

A Regional Symposium on Livestock Marketing in the Horn of Africa was held in Nairobi between the 21st and 23rd of October 2009 at Kenya Commercial Bank Training Centre, Karen.

The Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD) 2010 will take place in Montpellier, France from 28-31 March 2010. The conference aims to provide a global action plan and strategy for improving agricultural research in order to make maximum impact on development, especially of the poor.

The African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE) will  hold its 3^rd conference from September 19-23, 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa. The theme of the conference  is “Africa and the Global Food and Financial Crises”.

An Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2009 will be held on 12 December in Copenhagen, coinciding with the United Nations Climate Negotiations (UNFCCC COP-15).

The CAADP Donors and Partners Meeting took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from September 6^th to 9^th, 2009. The discussions took place over four consecutive days and focused on reviewing CAADP progress and agreeing on a donor approach to supporting CAADP.
