Endorsed in 2003 by African heads of state and government, the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) is a continentwide framework for accelerating growth and progress toward poverty reduction and food and nutrition security through an agricultureled growth strategy. Beginning in 2006, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) hosted and incubated three programs that provide policy research and capacitystrengthening support to guide the planning and implementation of CAADP. The three programs migrated to AKADEMIYA2063 in July 2020.

This interplay goes to the heart of the 2020 Africa Agriculture Trade Monitor (AATM), launched today at AGRF’s Great Debate. During the session, leading minds on agri-food policy were invited to share their thoughts on the report in the context of COVID-19. Delivering the opening keynote, Dr Ousmane Badiane, Executive Chairperson of AKADEMIYA 2063, introduced the report’s key findings.
