At the African Union Summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in June 2014, Heads of State and Government adopted a remarkable set of concrete agriculture goals to be attained by 2025.
The Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihoods is a set of new goals showing a more targeted approach to achieve the agricultural vision for the continent which is shared prosperity and improved livelihoods.
The 2016 Global Hunger Index Africa Edition is produced by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Concern Worldwide, and Welthungerhilfe in conjunction with NEPAD. The GHI Africa Edition is based on data taken from the 2016 Global Hunger Index. IFPRI has calculated the Global Hunger Index, a multidimensional measure of global hunger, for the past eleven years. The series tracks the state of hunger across the globe and spotlights those regions and countries where action to address hunger is most urgently needed.

Sector-level Public Expenditure Reviews (PERs) are a standard instrument for Tanzania’s annual rounds of performance evaluation. They are one of the main basic pieces of information and assessment for the dialogue between the Government and development partners (DPs) who support the country via general budget support (GBS) or sector policy support.
The aspirations of Vision 20401, the NDP II and ASSP are to transform Uganda from a peasant to a modern prosperous country. This is set to be realized through strengthening the country’s competitiveness for sustainable production, wealth
creation, employment and inclusive growth. These development frameworks identify increasing production and productivity, value addition and market opportunities as some of the key drivers of growth and development.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries in collaboration with the Agricultural Sector Development Partners plans to conduct the 6th Joint Agricultural sector Annual review (JASAR) workshop from 29th to 30th August,
2016 at Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo.
The primary objective of the JASAR) is to review the performance of the agricultural sector for FY 2015/16 and to propose a way forward for moving the agriculture sector forward.
The Government of Uganda, under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) in collaboration with Development Partners, conducted the 3rd Joint Agricultural Sector Annual Review (JASAR) workshop on 7th and 8th November 2013 at the Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo.
The theme of the JASAR was “Agriculture for Food and Income Security”, which is also the overriding theme of the DSIP. The two-day program is shown in Annex 1.
