The Ninth Ordinary General Assembly of CORAF/WECARD took place on May 28-29 in Cotonou, Benin.  The objectives of the General Assembly included examining and adopting the report of the Governing Board; examining and adopting the activity report of CORAF/WECARD; adopting the statutory documents; examining and adopting the budget for the next two years; electing new Governing Board members to replace those who have reached the end of their terms of office; selecting a country to host the 10th General Assembly; and examining any other matter relating to the life of CORAF/WECARD.

Outcomes of the meeting included the adoption of the report of the Governing Board, the adoption of the activity report of CORAF/WECARD, the adoption of the Governance Manual and Governing Board by-laws, the election of new Governing Board members, and the selection of Chad as host for the 10th General Assembly in 2012.

Participants included representatives of national agricultural research institutions, producers, NGOs, universities, representative from the private sector, development partners, scientific and technical partners, members of the Governing Board, and members of the STC.

The ReSAKSS Africa-wide coordinator, Dr. Babatunde Omilola, was in attendance; he presented a paper titled, "Trends of Agricultural Investments in West and Central Africa."
