As part of its mission to improve evidence based policy planning and implementation of CAADP, ReSAKSS is currently focusing on the CAADP Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework. The Framework, which is outlined in ReSAKSS Working Paper No. 6, includes measures and indicators to monitor agricultural growth, food security and poverty reduction, and serves as a primary tool for review, benchmarking, and mutual learning in different African countries and regions. ReSAKSS nodes have crafted several survey instruments and are currently collecting, in collaboration with regional and national partners, in-depth data for key indicators on agricultural policies and strategies, total revenue and expenditures, agricultural expenditures, agricultural institutions, growth, poverty and performance, and socio-economic conditions.

Preliminary results, particularly on public spending for agriculture in Africa, will be available in ReSAKSS Working Paper No. 28 (forthcoming). As the data collection progresses, figures and analysis will be posted on the ReSAKSS website when available.

In the last few weeks, representatives of ReSAKSS have participated in many high level events in Africa to further support policy and strategy planning and implementation and facilitate dialogue between governments, stakeholders, and their development partners, including the 4th CAADP Partnership Platform and the Joint Conference of African Ministers of Agriculture, Land and Livestock. Please find more details and presentations from these events in the articles below.

We sincerely urge you to take advantage of the ReSAKSS e-newsletter to receive up-to-date information on ReSAKSS outputs, planned activities, policy research findings, and stakeholder communications.
