Diagnostic Review of Public Expenditure in the Agriculture Sector in Cote D'Ivoire (1999-2012)

Dans le cadre de la mise en place et de loprationnalisation du systme national danalyse stratgique et de gestion des connaissances (SAKSS national), une stratgie de renforcement des capacits est labore travers notamment lvaluation des besoins des institutions impliques dans le processus de politique agricole et alimentaire en matire individuelle, organisationnelle et institutionnelle.

Le processus de mise en oeuvre du Programme dtaill de dveloppement de lagriculture africaine(PDDAA) sest acclr depuis la dclaration dengagement des chefs dtats de lUnion africaine Maputo en 2003 de consacrer au moins 10% de leur budget lagriculture. Ce cot de fouet a permis, au niveau rgional et national du continent africain, de dvelopper des initiatives pour amliorer les conditions de production agricole. LUEMOA, la CEDEAO, le CILSS, en collaboration avec les tats membres, ont renforc la convergence de leurs politiques pour plus defficacit.

The 2014 Annual Trends and Outlook Report examines both current and future trends that are likely to shape the trajectory of African economies. It investigates the drivers behind the recent growth recovery, the nature and pattern of structural transformation among African economies, past strategies and future outlook for industrialization, the changes occurring in agrifood systems, and the role of major infrastructure sectors in the continents past and future growth.

The CAADP Results Framework provides Africa and its partners with a set of goals and results to be pursued in the transformation of the agriculture sector. It gives the political and technical impetus to foster policy alignment and harmonization of interventions geared at advancing the agriculture transformation agenda. It articulates the targets to be achieved over the next ten years, and provides the set of associated indicators.

The 2014 Malabo Declaration on Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihoods expresses firm recommitment toward attainingcan agriculture revolution in Africa. This recommitment arose as a result of the progress made and lessons learnt in the implementation of earlier AU Decisions and Declarations, most notably the 2013 Maputo Declaration on Agriculture and Food Security in Africa.

The objective of this Capacity Needs Assessment (CNA) study is to identify where and how to improve Ghanas agricultural policy analysis, investment planning, implementation, M&E, and knowledge management. To achieve this objective, researchers first needed to identify and understand countrylevel capacities, skills, and analytical tools that already exist and function effectively in addition to ones that are deficient or nonexistent. The CNA was conducted at three levels: the policy process/enabling environment level, organizational level, and individual level.

The Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS) 2014 Annual Conference is being organized by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) and NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency. It will take place at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 8-10 October, 2014.

The 2013 Annual Trends and Outlook Report (ATOR) contributes to the emerging debate by analyzing Africas recent trade performance and future outlook at the global and regional levels, including discussions of the mechanisms of dealing with food price volatility, the scope for increasing trans-border trade, and the potential impacts of weather-related shocks and biophysical factors on intra-regional exports. The ATOR finds that Africas share of world trade of goods and services, and specifically of agricultural goods, made a turnaround and started increasing in the 2000s.
