ReSAKSS-SA organized a regional methodology workshop on October 23 in Pretoria, South Africa, titled “Strengthening Capacity for Strategic Agricultural Policy and Investment Planning and Implementation in the SADC Region: The CAADP and SADC RISDP M&E Data Presentation and Report Writing for the 2012 Annual Trends and Outlook Report (ATOR) for Southern Africa”. The workshop was aimed at compiling a better regional database timely for purposes of producing the 2012 annual report for Southern Africa.

A total of 22 people participated in the workshop, including SADC Secretariat, IWMI/ReSAKSS researchers, and national collaborators from 10 SADC countries, namely Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This is the third regional methodology workshop hosted by ReSAKSS-SA this year. The previous two workshops were focused on revising the data collection instrument and speeding up the data collection process for the 2012 CAADP SADC-RISDP M&E.  Read more about the first and second workshops.

Expect Swaziland, all collaborators that presented at the workshop later submitted copies of their data. The collected data comprises of M &E indicators for tracking the implementation of the CAADP process in Southern Africa, with considerable emphasis on flows of public expenditure and investment in agriculture which is the main focus of the 2012 ATOR.
