Togo Scheduled to Hold Roundtable and Sign CAADP Compact, July 29th and 30th, 2009
Tue, 07/28/2009

Togo is set to become the first West African country to hold a CAADP Roundtable , which will culminate into the signing of the country’s CAADP Compact.

The Compact specifies the country’s long-term investment commitments for agricultural growth and development and is based on rigorous analysis and negotiations between a wide range of stakeholders. Ten other West African countries have their CAADP Roundtables scheduled for September 2009 and four for October 2009. Nine countries in the COMESA region have also scheduled their CAADP Roundtables between August and October 2009. In addition, ECOWAS has scheduled the signing of their regional compact for October 19-20, 2009 while COMESA will sign their compact in November.

Official CAADP briefs and brochures for Togo, along with other countries' Roundtable schedules are now available on the ReSAKSS website. For more information, also visit Togo's CAADP website.
