ReSAKSS-SA continues to facilitate and coordinate Joint Sector Reviews and New Alliance progress tracking in Southern Africa

To facilitate the mutual accountability process, the CAADP Mutual Accountability Framework (MAF) was developed (AUC-NPCA 2011). A key instrument for operationalizing the mutual accountability framework is the Joint Sector Review (JSR), which is a set of guidelines developed to assist country stakeholders to jointly track progress in the agricultural sector against agreed commitments by the stakeholders.

ReSAKSS 2015 Annual Conference in Addis Ababa

The Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System for Southern Africa (ReSAKSS-SA), facilitated by the International Water Management Institute - Southern Africa Office (IWMI-SA), participated in the ReSAKSS 2015 Annual Conference, which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on September 1-3, 2015. The theme of the conference was “Beyond a middle income Africa: Transforming African economies for sustained growth with rising employment and incomes.”


The AGRODEP GAMS Training Toolbox is intended to assist those interested in economic modeling-- including but not limited to general and partial equilibrium models as well as optimization problems-- by teaching them to use the GAMS software, a cornerstone of many modeling efforts. These economic models can be used to conduct research on a wide range of topics, such as analysis of various forms of policies, issues pertaining to agricultural growth and poverty, climate change, natural resource management, and the role of science and technology.
